“You know, I really have no idea what you do all day! Are you super sly, or am I just not paying attention?”
― Phoebe, Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Phoebe (ヒノコ, Hinoko) is an uchi ostrich villager who first appears in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Both Phoebe's English and Japanese names are plays on the mythical phoenix--one of the Japanese words for which is hi-no-tori, roughly translating to "firebird". Her initial phrase is most likely a reference to the sparks that come from a fire. She appears on the album covers for K.K. Parade and K.K. Salsa.

Appearance

File:Hinoko.png

Phoebe is an orange-red and brilliant yellow ostrich with spotted wings. Given her name, coloration and the Flame Shirt she wears as her initial outfit, it's likely that she is supposed to be a mythical phoenix. Her appearance is somewhat similar to Rio's, another female ostrich that appeared in the early games in the series.

House

Phoebe's house includes a variety of furniture apparently themed to her appearance, with red, black and blue-violet pieces. Her room includes a Gorgeous Bed, a mini squelchoid, a glass-top table in the center, a fireplace, an electric guitar, two simple sofas, a poinsettia, backgammon wall (wallpaper) and checkered tile (flooring). She has a turntable which plays K.K. Flamenco.
